The town festival is coming in May and everyone in my town will be there. I need ideas for crafts or food or something that I can sell at the festival. I have $100 for supplies and stuff.

I always had good luck with hot dogs. in fact very good luck. to put a hot dog together it only costs a dime. I would put up large posters "hot dogs 3 for a $1.00" trust me you will be selling them as fast as you can put them out. when no power was available I had a big pot on a propane gas stove, that works very well. 3 for $1.00 will bring you .70 on every sale. but don’t advertise your soda pop prices and make them a little higher, because most folks will want a drink with 3 hot dogs.also buy mustard in the gallon and have it off to the side, so they move away from the sometimes long lines. hope this helps, and believe me its fun.

As for goodies, in addition to the hot dogs, have cookies
you are looking at less than 10 dollars for supplies and this will make +64 tablespoon size cookies
sell them for a quarter each
Use bluebonnet butter and it comes with a cookie recipe on the back. I just half the sugar with brown sugar and you can make plain sugar cookies with colored sprinkles on top and the other half could be the chocolate chip cookies, i also take M&M and press a tablespoon of dough flat with the bottom of a cup(sprayed with nonstick spray) and place the M&M’s into happy faces ( 7M&M’s = 2 eyes, a nose and 4 for the smile) a big hit with the kids.

have fun getting prepared, and searching for other ideas, Blessings!

Sand art for the kids is always a huge hit at the local events here. Try looking at http://www.sunshinecrafts.com for affordable supplies or other craft ideas.

Yeah, treetown2 has the right idea. Hot dogs are always a seller and easy to do. Nachos work really well too (although maybe not if the weather is really warm in May where you’re at). You can get the chips, cheese, and jalapenos at a food warehouse store and just use a couple of crockpots for the cheese sauce. If the idea is to make money without a lot of work, maybe you can put together some gift baskets or other prizes that you can raffle off. You could even try asking some businesses around town to see if they would donate something for the raffle. Or perhaps collect donations for a book or white elephant sale (yard sale).
